FROM THE SAVIOR'S HEART
“Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,”
John 13:3
“rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.”
John 13:4-5
Pride is one of the sins God hates and speaks so strongly against. In the book of Proverbs 16:5, we read that the Lord hates, detests and abhors pride, and everyone with pride in his heart is an abomination to Him.
Since this sin is an abomination before our God whom we seek always to please, how then do we overcome it? The answer lies in the third verse of the thirteenth chapter of John.
“Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,”
Notice the word "knowing?" Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, rose and washed the feet of His disciples.
When you know that you belong to God and that all you are and have belong to Him, you will properly conduct yourself in life and never fail to give Him glory every time.
Pride comes as a result of lack of knowledge. Study the word. Get knowledge! Get understanding!
